Gavin you seem to care. I’ll tell you this and let you mull it over.

Elon is building robots. Autonomous robots. Now they have moving parts that can triangulate position of approaching objects and can see through their own skin well enough to avoid bumping into things when they move.

So you’ve got long range batteries, vision systems, sensor systems, moving appendages (doors) that calculate trajectory, uplink to a network, motors and of course manufacturing capability, raw materials and let’s not forget a charging network.

Whether it’s a car ultimately or something else, doesn’t really matter in the long run. The car form factor is a convenient transition that provides revenue and near term targets.

So, think about it and think about whether your own guesses are big enough to accommodate Mr. Musk’s ambition. With one company he wants to colonize Mars. With another he wants to change our entire energy economy and infrastructure. Is Tesla really a car company with a side gig as a taxi/rental service?
